Its soils, ranging from brown limestone in low-lying areas to gravelly and clay-ferrous in middle and high areas, give the wines complex aromas, structure and a defined character.
Its continental climate, with north winds and a mixture of Atlantic winter and Mediterranean summer influences, contributes to the balance, freshness and aromatic expression of the wines.
The influence of the Monastery of Veruela in Campo de Borja was fundamental, preserving, developing and promoting viticulture that continues to this day. Historical documents from the monastery dating back to the 13th century show the area’s wine-making tradition. The monks promoted the planting of vines and techniques that laid the foundations for local production.
This historical heritage culminated in the recognition of the Campo de Borja PDO in 1980, giving rise to wines that combine tradition, quality and character.
