Aragón offers a wide variety of unrivalled products.

From fruits such as cherries, nectarines, flat peaches, apples and pears, to vegetables such as tomatoes, borage, cardoons, chard, escarole, broccoli, bisalto, green beans, etc., to legumes such as chickpeas, lentils, garbanzos, etc.

In terms of meat products, Aragón is particularly renowned for its prestigious traditional products such as longanizas (sausages), chiretas (a type of sausage), tortetas (a type of sausage), bolas (a type of sausage), bispos (a type of sausage), fardeles (a type of sausage), güeñas (a type of sausage) and morcillas (black pudding), products that form an essential part of our gastronomic culture and are renowned for their quality and flavour

As for pastries, from Huesca to Teruel, passing through Zaragoza, there are ‘laminerías’ (pastries) to suit all tastes. These include trenza, Russian cake, lacitos, refollao, meringues, suspiros de amante, marzipan chestnuts, culecas, cocas, tortas de alma, almojábanas, frutas de Aragón, as well as the emblematic guirlaches and empanadicos.

The wide variety of cheeses produced in Aragón deserves special mention, the result of a strong tradition of livestock farming and cheese making. Different regions produce renowned cheeses such as Tronchón, Broto, Radiquero, Benabarre and Albarracín, made from sheep’s, goat’s or cow’s milk and with very different characteristics. From mild and creamy cheeses to mature cheeses with an intense flavour, many of them have won awards in national and international competitions. Tasting the cheeses of Aragón is a way of getting to know the region through its flavours.

Fruit and vegetables

Aragon produces 25% of all fruit in Spain and is the leading producer of sweet stone fruit, such as cherries, accounting for 41% of the country’s production, and peaches, accounting for 34% of total production.

The fruit and vegetable subsector in Aragon generates 134.2 million per year, representing 7.6% of final agricultural production and approximately 0.3% of the Autonomous Community’s GDP.
